Michigan Event Until December 5th - Out 'N' About Flint   A collaborative effort to showcase the Arts of the LGBTQ Communities and Allies. Sponsored by the Greater Flint Arts Council. Download flyer.

Local event Until December 28th - "Geoffrey & Jeffrey"   Playing at Performance Network, 120 E. Huron St., Ann Arbor, Geoffey & Jeffrey, by Michigan playwright Kim Carney, chronicles the relationship of a long-term gay couple who have hit a rough patch and how they are affected by the appearance of a daughter and granddaughter that one of them never knew he had. It's a comedy that explores the changing definition of the word family. Thursday & Friday 8:00 pm; Saturday 3:00 pm & 8:00 pm; Sunday 2:00 pm. Panel discussions on Saturdays and Sundays in November. Tickets $10 to $41.

Transgender Event November 11th to 20th - Transgender Days of Rememberance   The LBGT Resource Center at Michigan State University announces 2008 events marking the 10th Annual Transgender Day of Rememberance The student organization TransAction (formerly PhiTauMu) is the prime mover behind event planning. Perceptions Event Wednesday, November 12th - Perceptions Transgender Group   6:00 pm. Meeting at The Mixx / Metro Grille, 115 N. Hamilton St., Saginaw, the group offers an informal gathering, taking a more 'light-hearted' approach to allow transgenders in the Tri-City area an opportunity to connect with one another for socializing and support. Transgender Event November 17th to 23rd - Transgender Awareness Week   Sponsored Spectrum Center at University of Michigan. "Gender Justice." Download flyer.

Local Event Tuesday, November 18th - Men's Discussion Group   7:00 to 8:30 pm. Zauel Memorial Library, 3100 Center Road, Saginaw Township. This gathering is intended as a discussion and informal support group for gay and bisexual men. The group will be facilitated by Thomas Brubaker. You may contact him at Thomas@PerceptionsSV.org for additional information or to let him know you'll attend. Light snacks will be provided. You may bring your own beverage into the library as long as the container has a cover or cap.

Perceptions Event Thursday, November 20th - Perceptions General Meeting   7:00 pm.  St. John Episcopal Church, 123 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw. Annual Thanksgiving potluck and food drive. The food drive this year will benefit Innerlink Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelter. All are welcome. Beverages and table service provided. Please bring a dish to pass. Local Event Thursday, November 20th - Womyn's Circle   7:00 pm. Special time and location for this meeting. The Womyn's Circle will be joining Perceptions for their Annual Thanksgiving Potluck to be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 123 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw. This program provides support and socialization to Tri-County lesbian women and facilitates community awareness projects in partnership with Perceptions and PFLAG. It provides safety and help to women and their families experiencing hostility and isolation. Regular meeting time and location will resume on Thursday, December 4th.

Transgender Event Thursday, November 20th - Transgender Day of Remembrance   The Transgender Day of Remembrance was set aside to memorialize those who were killed due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice. The event is held in November to honor Rita Hester, whose murder on November 28th, 1998 kicked off the "Remembering Our Dead" web project. The Transgender Day of Remembrance serves several purposes. It raises public awareness of hate crimes against transgendered people. It publicly mourns and honors the lives of our brothers and sisters who might otherwise be forgotten, showing love and respect for transgender people in the face of national indifference and hatred.

PFLAG Event Sunday, November 23rd - PFLAG Meeting   2:00 - 4:30 pm. This month's guest speaker will be Chuck Batke. The meeting takes place at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 6220 Jefferson Ave., Midland.

Meet your old friends and make some new ones while eating fantastic baked goods. Enjoys hot and cold drinks in a non-smoking environment. Local event Thursday, December 4th - Holiday House Walk   10:30 am to 8:00 pm. A delightful tour of seven of the area's most interesting homes, all decked out for the holidays. Visit the SBSO web site or call 989-755-6471 for more information. Tickets are $16 in Advance or $20 at the door. All proceeds are to benefit the music and music education programs of the Saginaw Bay Orchestra.

Local Event Saturday, December 13th - Perceptions Holiday Party & Charity Auction   Perceptions 7th Annual Holiday Party will be held at Sullivan's Black Forest Brew Haus, 281 Heinlein Strasse, Frankenmuth. Advance tickets $25 (Perceptions members may request a $5 rebate at the door); Tickets will be $30 at the door. Advance tickets are available from Board members at all Perceptions Events or you may purchase online before December 7th.

AIDS Awareness EventWednesday, March 4th - Charity Drag Show   8:00 pm until midnight. The Gay-Straight Alliance at SVSU presents its Second Annual Charity Drag Show to benefit AIDS Walk Michigan. Richard Thompson Student Activities Room on the campus of Saginaw Valley State University, 7400 Bay Rd., University Center, MI 48710. Admission $2 at the door. (Show your Perceptions Membership Card for free admission.) Bring your dollar bills to "vote" for your favorite performer.

Freeland Meet & Greet - 2nd Wednesday of every month. Riverside Restaurant, 8295 Midland Rd. Private Room. The Riverside is famous for their homemade pies. 7:00 - 9:00 pm.

Friday Night Dinner. Join Perceptions members on Friday nights for dinner at a local eatery. Each week we meet at a different restaurant for food, fun and conversation. The Womyn’s Circle meets 5:30-7:00PM on the first and third Thursday of each month at the YWCA located at 3405 Midland Rd. in Bay City. Free, confidential support group sessions.

Rehearsals for Great Lakes Pride Band every Wednesday, 7:30 - 9:00 pm, at Unity of Greater Lansing, 240 Marshall Ave., Lansing 48912.

Anonymous and confidential HIV testing is available at The Hearth Home in Saginaw. Men who participate will receive a Meijer's gift certificate if they choose to be tested. Contact Ricardo Bowden at 989-753-9011 for further information.
